Carl's Doomsday Scenario

I had no intention of reading any fiction that I hadn't read before, probably at least easily a dozen times. This series changed that. This is the second of apparently eight books so I won't be doing any military reading for a while. I loves me some long books.

If you really want to yank my chain bring up the Starship Troopers movie.😡
That movie was awful but if you watch one of the "making of" stories about that movie, it was intentionally set to that tone. Everyone is "pretty". No one question authority. The state is correct citizen. Not saying that made for a good movie, just that Verhoeven made a decision and stuck to it. Dina Meyer was easy on the eyes at least. ;)

Sigh! The keys to me were the armor and the political system. I know the armor wasn't there, I'd bet the political part wasn't either.

If you don't have the budget to do the movie properly then don't do it.

The Holy Grail was brilliant though.🤣

A change of pace for me: Over The Edge; Death in the Grand Canyon.

The book is a tabulation of all the recorded deaths in the Grand Canyon, and a telling of the better documented deaths. It should be required reading before being allowed to enter the park. I bought it in the park.

Was starting to reread Carl's Doomsday Scenario and Raven and Cody decided to help. Waiting for the third book from the library. Catching up to young coworker Matt. A young person who actually reads!20260823_220730.jpg

Matt. Quite the video gamer and a good guitar player. Describes himself as an introvert but motormouths to me. Good worker and the one who reccomended Dungeon Crawler Carl.Screenshot_20260823_225219_Gallery.jpg

The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook. The third book of eight in the series. Already reserved the fourth at the library. Good stuff!

The Butcher's Masquerade

Book five of the series. Ordered book six, should be here today.

Young coworker Matt showed me Dinniman's website where he posted
some readers comments of Dungeon Crawler Carl. They were very negative! Lmao the guy had a sense of humor.
