Leaving that aside, I would like to request that BFP3 not be put up for pre-order until it is very nearly ready to be released. There was a lengthy delay with the last one, longer than I had anticipated. Thanks.

Mark our intention is to not put it up until we're 90% ready to go to print. The last pack was delayed because of counter printing issues. We regret the delay that caused and we hope to avoid any delays from things we can directly control moving forward.

Honestly, I could care less if was delayed or not, in the end, we got a great product from some great guys.

Well, back on topic, it is exciting news to see such an comprehensive, meaty PTO pack. As for the price, not cheap in total dollars, but from a value perspective probably quite on par or slightly better than anything else on the market.

I just received BtB2/Cobra and and an initial run-through am very impressed both with content and production quality.

Not 100% sure but I think BFP 3 uses 100% of the Jap 1/2" and close to 90% of the 5/8" counters. We are not going to tread on MMP in that manner. And, this would only increase the cost even further. I understand it may be frustrating to those that do not and cannot own the PTO stuff, but that is also out of our control. We are not going to not do PTO because of it. Surely even with BV out of print people still producted Russian front actions. Hopefully our product will increase interest in PTO overall which could benefit everyone.
For those that may have to wait for CoB, BFP 3 does provide a good number of Axis Minor actions as well.

Intentions?? I believe vs. I don't believe.... lets not debate them. I care about the products being developed that are of super high quality.

Mark, that is an ok request....but it was "very nearly" ready.... wasn't it an unavoidable printer problem or something? What I paid brought me an excellent product that I enjoy throughly... if it would have been a month longer who would have cared?--maybe just you:upset:--.... I wasn't out anything (money in the bank doesn't earn anything). I will support a quality dependable producer anytime with my early orders and money.... Chas and the folks at BFP have earned my/our respect and my money.... And I am sure your respect for producing a quality ASL product.

I am always in favor of buying or subscribing early with real money. If I get a price break for early purchase(or not) it is a good deal because I know it supports the effort of the TPP. Good stuff begets good support. Mark, looking for your review at DM..... I notice in your BFP "Into the Rubble" review you reported...."overall Into the Rubble is a quite a good "first product" for a revivified company; hopefully, it won't be the last." I think they hit a home run with BtB2 and BFP2/Cobra. I bet we'll see it equaled it with BFP 3.... I don't mind buying today.... you?

I have all the official PTO stuff and am in the middle of my first PTO game having no FTF opponents in the past to help me on the way. I think I will like PTO but again the game I'm playing is PTO terrain light, BUT even if I wont play it in ages this ones on my list due to OtO, ITR, BtB2 and OC, these are great, I will buy them as I fear not buying it and .......... but the main reason is support, I get all official stuff as I'm a drone, I've bought spades full of TPP over the last 12 month's and I am yet to be disapointed with any purchase overall. Rally Point 3 is proving a very good purchase having played 3/4 of the pack.

I agree, sorry for edging off topic!

I am not a regular BFP playtester but I have had an opportunity (when Chas visitied Oklahoma in the recent past) to play some of the scenarios being tested (that are now final) that will be in the BFP 3. I can't remember the names but they were all nail biters till the last dice roll... either player could have won. Just another reason I'd buy now... not quite site unseen.

I'm excited!:yummy: Man.... hope there is a workaround for the folks without their Japanese and etc counters.

Giving Mark the benefit of the doubt here and assuming he forgot a smiley face as he discusses in one of the LFT articles. Otherwise this statement would be absurd. Didnt realize that ~85 days was not acceptable in this business.

Additionally, as announced, the product went up for preorder when the counter stuff went to the printer. Since we had to restart that whole process 6 weeks or so later with a new printer I think we got this out in a very timely manner and maintained quality.

I really appreciate all of the positive posts from everyone else and I can assure you we are chugging along on this product.

Who do you want to be BFP or CH, not knocking them but they have an uphill battle everytime they release something. If it's not 100% right everyone remembers the stuff that is very broke, with your stuff if it has a few things wrong I think a fair amount of suprise would be dished out. Praise indeed.

Add to the fact we have so much stuff on the table the need for speed (from the point of consumption) is laughable.

~85 days was not acceptable in this business.

What is "acceptable" in this business, if by "business" you mean third party ASL, is a joke, as there are plenty of ASLers who will accept any amount of abuse from producers and will still pony up; they are addicted.

However, as far as I personally am concerned, three months for a pre-order is NOT something I want to have to accept. Anything over a month would irritate me, and I would certainly want it to be less than 30 days. Note that I make a distinction between a true pre-order, such as MMP has (where credit cards are charged upon shipping, not ordering), and a faux pre-order, which is what BFP has (where people use pay-pal to pay up front before shipping). A faux pre-order is not a pre-order, it is a pre-pay, with money up front. So basically people ponied up significant amounts of money for products not delivered until three months later.

I am sure that there are ASLers who don't mind this at all. There are some people who would still line up to buy ASL product if a pre-requisite of purchase was that they be *****-slapped by a burly man in a dress. But for me, if you are taking my money, you need to be sending me something pronto or I'm going to be pissed.

It is illegal to charge a credit card before a product is shipped. I doubt that a similar practice regarding paypal has actually been tested in the courts yet, but it is certainly similar. It is at best problematic to accept people's money (as opposed to simply accepting an order) before a product is ready to go. Since paypal is automatic, if you are going to accept paypal, it should not be accepted unless release is imminent. Certainly not months away.
