Nope! Go Yanks until Jeter and Mo are gone. ;)
They're ancient and it's time for them to be gone. Good riddance. My only hope is that they stay for 5 years and they both play mediocre.. like Posada this year.

The Tiger's third baseman Inge lost the game for us tonight. What do you guys think of this?

Bottom of the tenth. Bases loaded. Two outs. Two strikes.

Outfielders playing deep. Shortstop and second baseman playing deep.

Sharp ground ball to third base, Inge charges, catches the ball... AND THROWS TO SECOND before the second baseman could get there in time! Guy's safe at second. Run scores. Game over.

You ALWAYS throw to first in that situation. They would've had the guy by fifteen feet! The guys on base are off with the swing. The batter starts standing still. It's a no brainer! :blab:

The loudmouths on the radio say it was a fielder's choice and the second baseman should have been there in time. But he was playing deep to take away the bloop single!

And they had put Inge in late as a DEFENSIVE REPLACEMENT! How's that for irony?

At least the Indians and Bleached Hosery both lost as well. :shy:

It was the 2B fault. He was too nonchalant in getting to the bag.

I didn't see it but I will tell you how it is taught from the professional level down to the small college level. In that situation where the ball takes you dictates where you go. If you have to come and get it, you go to first. If the ball takes you towards third, you step on the bag. If the ball takes you towards 2nd, you go to 2nd (unless you have + speed at first and then the ball needs to be hit on the screws to go to 2nd). If it is a hard chopper that you have to drop step to open up the angle to see the ball better, you go to first.

I hope that is of some assistance:)

Inge went maybe a step or two to his left. It was hit hard and he got rid of it quickly and made a hard throw. For whatever reason Cabrera wasn't holding Rodriguez on so he got a great jump. 2B Santiago didn't hustle and lost the race to the bag because Rodriguez was hustling. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=310824130&teams=detroit-tigers-vs-tampa-bay-rays

I can see how it's partly Santiago's fault for not getting to second fast enough. But today the manager Leyland came right out and said Inge made a mistake. And the Detroit sports fans are demanding Inge's head on a platter.

Of course nobody asks why the pitcher hit a batter and walked a batter to load the bases in the first place. :paperbag:

Yankees set a record with three grand slams in one game today. :crosseye:

My prediction for SF;
not only will they not make it back to the W.S.(safe bet, I know),
they will finish sub-.500 this season.

Hmmmm...

I was always taught that with 2 outs you go to first, because the runners are taking off at contact. Unless of course you're standing close to 3rd base.
