Atlanta ASL Tourney July 30th thru August 2nd - Spreading Blaze 2026

Face-to-face ASL play resumes in July at the premier ASL event in Atlanta. We are returning to our normal date - first weekend in August.

Once again, we will be gaming at the beautiful Marriott Atlanta Northeast / Emory Area, which is located just off Interstate 85 at Clairmont Road.

We have a discounted room block available for $139 + taxes/fees. There is also a daily parking fee at the hotel. You can use the following link to register for a room – if you call the hotel mention our event name which is Boardgame Tournament.


The tournament will run 4 days, Thursday through Sunday.

We are continuing with the optional large scenario format for rounds 1 and 2 (see below) as this has been very well received for the past two years.

The action begins on Thursday with a special first round that features larger scenarios. Those participants arriving on Thursday before 1 pm can optionally participate in this round. The winners of this round will enter the main event Friday morning with a 1-0 record and play another large scenario on Friday as their second-round match. If you participate in the special first round on Thursday and lose, then you will enter the tournament on Friday morning without any losses and complete two rounds on Friday.

Those who can’t make it until Friday morning will also enter the tournament at that time and complete two rounds on Friday.

Please be aware that this special format means that someone that you defeat on Thursday may end up winning the tourney, perhaps even beating you in a subsequent round, if this is too much to handle then please don't participate in the special Thursday round as it is 100% optional.

Open ASL gaming is always available on Thursday as well.

Depending upon numbers the main event will be either 4 or 5 rounds and finish on Saturday or Sunday. There will also be several mini-events including the soon-to-be classic “No Brothers, No Friends” 3-player scenario from Twilight of the Reich on Saturday.

Admission Fees are $60 before July 1st $75 on/after July 1st and $30 for single-day attendance

We have the room all day Sunday so I am hoping folks will plan to stay and game on Sunday as well.

I look forward to seeing all of my old and new ASL buddies in Atlanta this Summer.

I can't emphasize how important it is to go to an ASL event. If you've never been to one before the experience can be amazing and very educational.

Props to all those who host an event.

This 100%. I learned more abut what I needed to do to improve in one ASLOK than I had in 25 years of ASL. And that's not a diss on my regular opponents who taught me so much anyway, but the concentrated exposure to a wide variety of high level play really opened my eyes.I also made a few friends there that I would never have otherwise met. Also, the people are the real draw at these events. The Asia Pacific Tourneys over the years have been about spreading the joy. People come away from these events enthused about the game for the most part and that carries on in areas afterwards. I playtest now because I don't have the opportunity to travel anymore, but I wouldn't have considered it but for a comment at ASLOk encuraging me personally to playtest as my input would be of value, no matter my skill level.

Get Thee to any ASL gathering.

Exactly! Our goal with Oktoberfest was to get people together to play, learn, and make new friends. What more could you ask for?

Well pre Actiondebbie I was not adverse to paying for it. I embraced many naval traditions, especially the drunken sailor ones. Whorehouses and passing out in an alley, good times. Those traditions have to be experienced and passed on.

After Actiondebbie and I hooked up the paying for it days were over. Why go out for a burger when you've got great meatloaf at home? I'll take Actiondebbie's meatloaf over a steak any day of the week. I really am a cheap date until it comes to alcohol. Not quality but quantity. 🤪
