The preparations for the 2026 Edition of the Scandinavian Open are under way – and the first players have already stated their intention to participate. The tournament will again be held at Danhostel Ishøj, the location that served us so well since 2021. Book your flights early - we've been told that they are quite inexpensive at the moment.

The dates of the main event will be February 25 - March 1 2026. There will be friendly gaming Wednesday/Thursday February 25-February 26 leading up to the classic 5 round ASO main tournament starting friday February 27 running through sunday March 1st. The friendly gaming Wednesday and Thursday will take place at the same venue as the main tournament, so you can see it as a chance to warm up for the main tournament or just a chance to play some new opponents in a friendly atmosphere.

Contact Michael Hastrup-Leth (hastrupleth@gmail.com) or Bo Siemsen (bo.siemsen@gmail.com) for registration and a specific price for your stay.

Updates with regards to registered players, scenarios, PBS etc. will be made available on our website leading up to the tournament. Updates will also be announced in the Gamesquad forums in this thread. This year we will attempt to release a preliminary/partial scenario list early. Perhabs at some point here in September.

MINI TOURNAMENT UPDATE
We have decided which two Mini Tournaments to run at ASO 2026. We are very excited about running a HASL mini from the upcoming Jebsheim Module currently being designed and developed by top designers @Bill Cirillo and @Sean Deller. We have the pleasure to be involved with the playtesting proces and can already see 3 scenarios suitable for a mini tournament. We will provide the maps needed. Thanks to Bill and Sean for letting us do this.

Jebsheim os a village area in Alsace where fierce fighting took place been an allied force of French Foreign Legion, French Paratroopers and American forces against a mixed bag of German forces. The Map is really nice too.

#1 Jebsheim HASL Mini
#2 will be a PTO mini with scenarios from the main tournament from the final round. Possibly replacing one of them with a larger (PTO) scenario for Saturday night

Looks great as always.
Thanks Juan :)
No, I thank you for your friendly and wonderfull tournament. Always (edit:Every time) I go there, I feel as If I was at my Wargames Club in Sevilla.

(Edit... well, for Mediteranean people, those who know what is the DRM of a olive groove or how to get the fruit out of a cactus hedge, the food isn't the most deserved...lol)

ASO 2026 is well under way with a strong field of players.
We have introduced an experimental new concept this year with a 6-player round robin tournament for players with less experience. The players were offered this as an option and it was well-received. They will play a full 5 games and compete for prices. This also means that the Main Tournament will be even more competitive.

ASO Would like to thank all our Generous Sponsors without who a lot of players would go home empty handed:

After the first round there's a French/Norwegian dominance among the undefeated players.

6 Norwegians
4 Frenchmen (one who lives and works in Norway)
Spain, USA, Denmark and Sweden (2) also represented in the undefeated field

Lots of Melting pots in the second round.
Meanwhile Tournament Directors are in the proces of getting ready to playtest another exciting scenario from Ted Wilcox in the most Factory-laden one-map scenario every created (my guesstimate). A 50 squad bloodbath will soon commence.
