ASL for Fun Crossroads at Les Attaques Map. Barbed wire missing from downloadable map?

Hello George,

Me and my buddy picked your Crossroads at les Attaques for our 100th VASL battle.
(Gary had played it before solitaire. Maybe you remember he sent you that AAR write up? You kindly placed it there in your website for all to read. Thanks.)

Anyways, I downloaded the map LCP-Crossroads for VASL but I do not see any barbed wire fences in the VASL map like shown in the pdf scenario 4 page description's map. (XXXXXXXX styles hex edges).

I am the British so I really wanted those barbed wire fences to slow down his truck convoys.

Just to slightly reiterate...

Your website shows a big thumbnail of your map. It is not showing your barbed wire. Right click on that big thumbnail starts the download of a zip file. That contains a gif of the map also WITHOUT any barbed wire.

Your beautiful 4 page pdf scenario card shows the map on page 1 above the turn tracks in a typical scenario card mini map size WITH barbed wire.
Page 2 shows a large version of the map with setup zones and entry zones and it is WITH barbed wire.

Theory 1: Do you use maybe paint.NET? The scenario card shows red set up zones and German crosses and British roundels. Maybe you did the barbed wire in paint.NET and forgot to make it in the actual VASL map?
Theory 2: That "layer" for barbed wire in your art software was not checked to be visible when you saved it as a gif? I have done that often!

We will fix today using VASL overlays for barbed wire for moving on with our 100th VASL Battle.

Everything is going great with the battle. We used overlays and see the map designer's intended barbed wire.

NEW QUESTION for George (if you happen to see this). The scenario rules say that if/when a German supply truck is destroyed, you do a dr to see if it has rations or ammo. I checked the rule reference you had in (D10.1) and it just refers to wrecks and I don't understand what you intended about that dr.

As the British, I greedily hoped it was saying the ammo trucks could detonate and maybe take out a bridge.

There is a typo; instead of D10.1 the correct reference is E10.1.

And the reason is the German were pushing resupply trucks forward to resupply the panzer spearheads; these trucks had a mixture of supplies on them; i.e., ammo, fuels, rations, spare parts. The dr is to see if the destroyed truck had fuel/ammo or other supplies.

Hi George,

We finally had an ammo truck explode! It was "tail end Hans" at the end of the convoy. He exploded per the Goliath procedures and 2 adjacent hexes all were broken as well.
We are in turn 12 and I think Jerry will not achieve victory.

In our playing it took until the last German MPh to achieve victory.

All of my British tanks arrived in either the very upper entry point or the middle one. So, I have a gauntlet awaiting the truck convoy. He is ready to call it but we'll go another turn for fun.

It is our 100th VASL battle and we picked YOUR scenario to commemorate that milestone. (It has taken us all of March to get through it juggling real life stuff with our VASL evening sessions.)
