HPS Simulations has announced a new John Tiller game, entitled Campaign Austerlitz.

Grab your musket and backpack and join Napoleon's legions as they march into Swabia to encircle the unfortunate General Mack. Continue on down the valley of the Danube as you pursue General Kutusov and his Russian hordes as they attempt to evade your mighty army. Capture Vienna and press on to meet up with destiny on the fields of Austerlitz, 2 December 1805, where Napoleon won his greatest victory. The Sun of Austerlitz has never shone brighter than now as you embark on your conquest of the forces of the Third Coalition.

HPS Simulations has announced an Ancient Warfare Scenario Competition.  Here are the details:

All you have to do is  create a scenario using the game editor from any of the three Ancient Warfare Series games and email it to HPS at support@hpssims.com.  You can use any of the maps available from any of the 3 games in any of the 3 editors, so there are plenty of maps to choose from when creating that special scenario.

The Deadline for sending in your scenario is 31 October, 2009.

The most balanced and entertaining scenario will be judged in November and the prizes awarded the first week in December.

"Starting with the next updates that are released, all John Tiller games through HPS will no longer require the CD in the drive to play them. All 65+ older titles will eventually be updated to this and new games will come that way out of the wrapper.

HPS Simulations has released an updated version of Civil War Battles: Vicksburg which includes a number of bug fixes and additional features, including Vista compatibility fixes. More information about this version is available at the HPS Simulations site.

HPS Simulations has announced that the latest title in the Squad Battles series has gone gold and is now available. Developed by veteran wargame designer John Tiller, Dien Bien Phu contains 70 stand alone scenarios and 7 campaigns. The game also includes 20 historical maps and a number of key updates for the Squad Battles engine, including an enhanced AI opponent. Scenario, database, and order of battle editors are also included.
