Okay, I am really getting annoyed. Sometime yesterday, users of Valve’s popular digital distribution service, Steam, could no longer get it to run on their PCs. It seems that with the deployment of the most recent update something got broke somewhere. The result: lots of angry people who cannot run Steam online or off, resulting in games that cannot be played and leisure time being wasted.
This is why there are still a lot of gamers who simply don’t trust anything less than a DRM-free physical copy. Now, I understand bad things happen, even in the non-stop party world that is the internet, but what really annoys me at times like this is how there is little official word about the situation. So far, there is not an announcement, forum stickie or any other form of official communication from Valve. I mean…really? Nothing? Not even “we’re working on it, please be patient”?
