The Beatles: Rock Band Debuts as the #1 Selling Music Video Game in the U.S. for September

Apple Corps, Ltd., MTV Games and Harmonix, the world’s leading developer of music-based games and a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks, today announced The Beatles: Rock Band debuted as the top selling music video game in the U.S. for September. Released simultaneously with the digitally re-mastered Beatles CD catalogue on September 9, 2009, the critically acclaimed game was also the #2 selling title across all genres by revenue in the U.S for the month of September. In addition, over 100K downloads of “All You Need Is Love” were sold in September. The charity single was released exclusively through Xbox LIVE online entertainment network for a limited time with All Apple Corps Ltd, MTV Games, Harmonix and Microsoft proceeds benefitting Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

Mastiff and Remington Arms Announce Videogame Publishing Deal

Mastiff, a leading publisher of interactive entertainment and Remington Arms Company, Inc. announced today that they will be teaming up to bring Remington's legendary firearms to Wii.

Nintendo Downloads of the Week

Fans of the legendary FINAL FANTASY series should be especially pleased with this week's downloadable game lineup. Making its Virtual Console debut is the original FINAL FANTASY, an NES classic that can now be enjoyed on the Wii system for the very first time. For hand-held gaming action with a sci-fi twist, this week's new Nintendo DSiWare title, Thorium Wars, lets you take control of an arsenal of vehicles to blast through waves of enemies in a variety of exotic locations. Pearl Harbor Trilogy coming to WiiWare

Legendo Entertainment, an independent publisher of computer and video games head-quartered in Sweden, today announced that Pearl Harbor Trilogy, an episodic air combat action game series, is in development for Wii™. Pearl Harbor Trilogy is a re-interpretation of Legendo’s popular PC title “Attack on Pearl Harbor” – with the first episode, “Red Sun Rising,” planned for a winter 2009 release on WiiWare. The game is being developed by Legendo in cooperation with Arcade Moon, the Wii specialist label of 3D People, an independent game developer located in Slovakia.

Stanislav Petri, Aerial Star Programmer at Arcade Moon had this to offer, “We have tamed the innards of the Wii to make its GPU glow red-hot as we’re shooting for 60 FPS aerial dogfight action using all the tricks in the book.”

Activision Announces Rapala: We Fish

Activision has announced a brand new entry in its Rapala fishing franchise, Rapala: We Fish for Wii. Slated for release on September 29, Rapala: We Fish is the first fishing title developed specifically for Wii, featuring over-the-top fun and action-packed fishing. The game is packaged with the Rapala fishing rod and reel peripheral, letting players cast it, crank it and set the hook!

“We’ve partnered with Rapala to develop a new type of fishing game that focuses on arcade style family fun for the Wii™,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Combining responsive controls with an action-packed, humorous direction, we have created a fishing game that’s unlike anything out there.”

Ubisoft Announces Monster 4x4 Stunt Racer for Wii

Today, Ubisoft announces the development of Monster 4x4: Stunt Racer for the Wii system from Nintendo. Monster 4x4: Stunt Racer puts Wii-lovers back into the driver's seat for a whole new race. Gamers of all ages will enjoy even bigger wheels, faster trucks and crazier stunts which made Monster 4X4: World Circuit the second highest selling driving game on the Wii ever.

Whether you're grinding through inner-city construction sites, crunching out-of-town canyons, or scraping through exclusive wall-driving features, players will be able to perform vertical stunts and find shortcuts as they take on their friends and family in 4-player split-screen modes.

The Amazing Brain Train Coming to WiiWare

Indie video game developer NinjaBee is proud to announce it has partnered with fellow indie developer Grubby Games to bring the 2008 PAX 10 Award-winning game - The Amazing Brain Train - to
Nintendo WiiWare™, the Wii™ system’s downloadable service, this fall.

“The Amazing Brain Train is a great example of some things that make indie games great – it’s highly creative, visually distinctive, and fundamentally fun to play,” said NinjaBee President and co-founder Steve Taylor.

More than a year of work has been put into fine-tuning The Amazing Brain Train and adapting it for the Wii. The result is a fun, ultra-challenging and addictive brain training game that is unlike any other in the WiiWare library.
