Lead and Gold Game Modes

Why aren’t there more Westerns when it comes to gaming?  It is a somewhat startling oversight when you consider that “shooters” are all the rage these days.  Oh sure, I guess you could argue that there just weren’t enough variety of weapons back in the bad ol’ days to make such a game interesting, but heck, we’re talking gaming here!  It wouldn’t be the first time that a developer took liberty with the facts.  Let’s face it:  the Old West is iconic and as fascinating to people the world over as is Europe’s medieval period.  I just don’t get it.

Fortunately, it looks like gaming might be on the verge of a genre-shift as a few Westerns are now being made.  From the freaky sci-fi Western that is Borderlands, to Rockstar Game’s Red Dead Redemption, the gunslinger shooter seems to be fighting for some long overdue attention.  Adding itself to the list is Fatshark’s Lead & Gold.  Like a mysterious stranger suddenly riding into town, Lead & Gold has exploded onto the scene and now has all the townsfolk a’talkin.  A multiplayer title that feature’s lots of third person action, Lead & Gold seems like it will be just the thing to fix that John Wayne itch.

In the following vid, Executive Producer Martin Wahlund gives us a glimpse of what awaits cowpokes everywhere.
