Best point made - England went to war to protect Poland. Lots of Poles joined British Forces because of that.
Hm, England declared war after Germany attacked Poland as it realized that a greater war could no longer be avoided any more. But did it really protect Poland?

England took meaningful action only when France, Belgium, and the Netherlands were threatened, which all lie much closer to its turf. Of course, Poland went down so fast that after the declaration of war there was no time to effect anything.
