Amidst our AARP Minis and Viagra Specials, let us give a little shout-out to the younger set.

On the subject of moderation, the very interesting thread on Streets of Stalingrad was going to be moved yesterday - and apparently has been, to Off Topic (?) - but also seems to have been locked. Probably notable in that the thread had a lot of enthusiastic participation from fans of the original editions, and also because the publisher/developer (?) of the latest proposed edition was participating in the discussion. Is it possible to re-open this?

To get us somewhat back on track, can anyone provide a list (formal or off the top of their head) of players under 30? I'm trying to remember the last time I crossed paths at an ASL gathering with someone under 30.

Nope.

Any solicitation needs to happen in The Emporium and that by paying subscribers only. Forum policy that I wuz not consulted on. Not sure but we may be deleting the whole thread depending on what (or if) we hear anything from Don.

If you want the thread revived, find a paying subscriber to open a new version in The Emporium and go from there.

The only one I can think of who *might* be is Derek Pulhamus. I'm generally on the young end and I've crossed 40.

How about Derek Ritter's son who, IIRC, won a mini at ASLOK within the last 2-3 years. I'm thinking he was only 13-14 at the time. I can't believe any ASLOK mini would be a gimme, so he must have some chops. [EDIT: May have been SK mini, if that counts.]

It was SK, and to be fair, my buddy was playing him with all intention of letting him win. But than young Mr. Ritter started rolling 2s, 3s, and 4s on TK shots and blew all his armor away :D He was not happy

Mike Reeds son is all that comes to mind. I am sure there are more young guys out there, but I am drawing a blank.

I'm 27 and I started playing a year ago, and now I have about 20 starter kit and 20 full ASL games under my belt. I live in Central Ohio so the plan is to make it to ASLOK this year and meet some of my VASL buddies. I also certainly don't expect to do terribly well in the tournaments...

Woohoo!

Condolences on your unfortunate geography. I don't know of anybody in Ohio who plays ASL.

I also certainly don't expect to do terribly well in the tournaments...
Ah, yes you will. Your W/L record won't be great, probably, but you're going to enjoy it SO FREAKING MUCH YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT.
