Before I give my pick I'll just offer all of this:

Ashley Fox says NYG: http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2011/story/_/id/7532283/super-bowl-2012-ashley-fox-super-bowl-prediction

Sunday Countdown guys go with NYG (4-0): http://espn.go.com/nfl/notebook/_/page/sundaycountdown11/your-weekly-nfl-guide

ESPN's NFL Expert Picks go with the NYG (6-2): http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks

AccuScore says NE wins 55%: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/projections?weekNumber=5&seasonType=3&seasonYear=2011&action=upsell&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/projections?weekNumber=5&seasonType=3&seasonYear=2011
(AccuScore has powered more than 10,000 simulations for every NFL game for ESPN.com, each simulated one play at a time and minimum of 10,000 times. For more, visit AccuScore.)

ESPN's Celeb Super Bowl picks gives the edge to NYG (15-9): http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2011/story/_/id/7533934/super-bowl-xlvi-celebrity-super-bowl-picks-tab-new-york-giants-new-england-patriots

Mike & Mike's Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks both say NYG: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/shows/mikeandmike/story/_/id/6946957/stone-cold-lead-pipe-locks

What If Sports says NE: http://www.whatifsports.com/beyondtheboxscore/default.asp?article=2011NFL_SuperBowlXLVI

Madden Simulation says NYG: http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames/easims12/_/gameId/7386280/madden-12-ea-simulations

Yahoo Game Picks says NE (3-1): http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/picks;_ylt=AiGcoOHanYENdg4ANsCQiktDubYF

CBSSports Expert Picks says NYG (5-0): http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks

Inside the NFL says NYG (2-0): http://www.beattheinsiders.com/home

Joe Namath says NE: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/joe-namath-nfl-blog-super-bowl-prediction-191250983.html

NFL Network on Playbook said NYG (2-1) although Sterling Sharpe, who was the lone person to pick NE to win, said NYG on the show. He later claimed that Tom Coughlin ordered him to pick against them because it would guarantee a NYG win.

And lastly NFL Network's lineup of all-star guests give their predictions (3-3 outright predictions): http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-super-bowl/09000d5d826965f4/Super-Bowl-predictions?module=HP11_hot_topics

The obvious edge is with NYG

It's almost bizarre that a team which scraped to a positive record duringbthe regular season should be being talked about as nailed on for the cup! Mind you, it has to be said that the person doing that talking in my case knows very little about the game.
Momentum. Can't believe it applies to the, ahem, "World Championship" of 'murican Fitba, but I'll back the Gints vs the Cheatriots any day.

Strange...
I'm an English football and cricket fanatic...
But Superbowl is definitely one of my sporting highlights of the year...the only sport which, other than when the Ashes is played down under, cost's me a days holiday at work
In the style of AD&D I'm 'True Neutral' in this one

Well I'm going to try avoiding any referencevtomit for the entirety of Monday and watch the recorded game with friends on Monday evening. We've done that the last few years and it's so much better, cutting out the adverts and not being up until some silly hour of the morning to find the result was decided in the first ten minutes.

I have watched every single Superbowl live since the SB XVII 'Skins Dolphins game. In fact, given the power of the PVR/TIVO/SKY+ HUMAX Freesat+ technology, it is the only NFL game each year I don't record and flick through the breaks/adverts.

I don't know....The only team I rooted for that won in the playoffs was NE, by that logic..."AHEM" If I root for the NYG's they lose if I root for NE they win.
Having said that, my guess is G-men by 14.:)

Mike & Mike had some stats on that:

SB teams have met 16 times during the season in which they played in the SB. The winner of the 1st game won 9 times during the SB (good news for NYG) but the loser of the season game has won the last 3 times (good news for NE).
And they tied four times?

I'm gonna go with East Coast Blue.

They are having a similar run like the Pack did at this time last year.
They have a complete team in all aspects of the game.
I think they beat better teams not only in the regular season, but also teams in playoffs that I think were better then the Pats.
Good Defense may not always win championships, but it always helps.
Pats are dependent on takeaways and the G-Men don't give it away very often, you can't count on the other team to give you the ball.
G-Men are an adaptive team, they lose to teams during the regular season, then come back and beat you in the playoffs (Niners, Pack).
X-Factor is Bellicheck, he is the chessmaster of football (as much as I don't like the Pats, have to give credit where it is due), if he has a thousand different schemes that the Pats can execute they can win, but I think the '07 Pats offense was better then this Tight End Blitz offense he has now.

I think it will either be close or a blow out. Blue by 6

During the regular season the Giants were 27th in defense. And the Giants were outscored during the regular season 394-400. And their running game was dead last (but recent SB champions have proven that you don't need a running game). I think the Pats aren't as explosive as they were in 07 but they are just as good without Moss taking plays off or just running fly patterns. Should be a real good game (at least I hope).
