I was a Marine. I can tell you that nobody in my unit would have assaulted somebody for "stomping" an American flag. If you did shit like that, you wouldn't be in the Corps for long. It's really a terrible depiction of a) our military or b) yourself, where you think unfettered violence is how you deal with people who have ideas different from yourself. The old might makes right mentality.
