I'm still looking for a Early American wargame to get into.
I was looking at Birth of America II then remembered this forum.

Which is a better strategic game; Birth of Ameroca II or EAB's ?

I'm not too worried about how old it is or 3D graphic's perfering good play to "cute animations" and would prefer to not have to deal with economics in great detail. I like the 2D version of the maps.

I used to play Avalon Hills "1776" a lot and really liked it (still have 2 copies of it laying around) so if theres a PC game like it that would be the one for me.
Thanks for any replies!

The two games are entirely different. 1776 is a Tactical game. Each scenario is a battle (ie, Monmouth, Bunker Hill, Saratoga), and each counter is a single company. A turn is 5 minutes.

BoA2 is a Strategic game. As memory serves, each turn is 2 weeks. So, if you're looking for strategic game, BoA2 is your call.

Thanks for the reply!

With that, is there a better "1776" era strategic game out there than BoA2?

Matrix has (had? Not sure if it's still out) For Liberty! Which I've never played (and never heard much buzz one way or the other), so can't comment on it really.

Thanks, it doesn't bother me that both are older games I just want a game that plays well & I can enjoy.
