This is of course completely different with ASL players. Their dress is always impeccable and they play to make the world better.

I would expect nothing less from a Prussian player. Any contradictions to your regulation will lead to immediate dismissal for 2 hours to allow the culprit to wash and don clean clothes. The game will be suspended in those 2 hours and the counters inspected for grime - even the concealed ones. The price they pay.

It's all about dollar bills and g-strings. The good news is, the fatter you are, the more room you have for dollar bills! Finally, something we fat guys will have an advantage at.
I would say the converse - the fatter you are, the less room you have. Just like food - and that is how I see money. Too much makes you fat and can also make you ill then kill you.
But so can no money

Bought Judges Guild "Inferno" on eBay. I doubt I'll ever play it but it's always interested me. There is a first printing of Tegel Manor on eBay too. Unfortunately it costs $190. NKG have one for sale for $700!!! So perhaps it's worth buying the cheaper one after all.

No idea about D and D whatsoever these days, I gave it up when 2nd edition came out.

Now a decent Magic Realms double-blind Referee, is worth their weight in gold, and one should never pass up the opportunity to play this antique gem under such a setting. I do know and have heard of some of these better referees being paid a "retainer for services" by the players at times.

KRL, Jon H
Hmmm.. perhaps I (we? :) ) should break Magic Realm back out.

Just got an unpunched copy of Wooden Ship & Iron Men btw .. wow ... how long has it been?

Played a game of Neue Heimat, a German property development game. 2-5-player; lots of screwage. Loads of fun. It is out of print, but heard it will be reprinted in 2018. Like most gamers though, I can't wait that long and will and will build a copy myself.

Having difficulty finding someone to renovate a chess board for me. Some of the dark squares have cracked and have slightly separated from the light squares since it was imported from India. The people I have spoken to find the job too specialist. I would have thought a furniture restorer would not find it too difficult to sand down a chess board and re-polish it.

having many decades ago manufactured one from Cedar and White Ash, i can testify that it requires more than a little effort to manufacture a new board - and that is woodworking, not any other materials.

Hey, I dreamed of owning this game as a teenager. Showing me an unpunched copy, even 30 years later, is just cruel.

WS&IM is a grate game I'd love to play it even if its been too many years. how about a game? That I could do vasl or email, ASL is too much for my small mind, can't cope with any thing not on my screen with ASL. It is truly a case of 'out of sight, out of mind'

Not too hard to get one on eBay. Life's short. Get one now!
Somewhere on the web I created counter sheets for the pieces. You can print them out, glue them to cardboard, and cut them out. The rules and charts were released for free distribution by Hasborg back when they first bought AH (as they did with many of the old AH games). The only thing you'd need to play is a hexgrid for the non-land bound games, or a scan of the original maps when there is land in play.

Is there a list of Avalon Hill games that have been released to the public somewhere?

I said "as a teenager"; this, for me, means several decades ago. I'm not sure the game would have the same appeal to me now. And my wife already makes enough jokes about me buying games, thank you (plus, my games collection takes up precious space that could be used to store 5% of her book collection).

Oh, I thought you actually meant "even thirty years later, it's just cruel".

Guess not. :)

Yeah, even thirty years later, it is cruel. While I was desperately looking for a copy, there were people keeping theirs unpunched; retrospectively, I hurt. But then I'm a bit of a realist now: I know that getting my own copy now wouldn't really make it better for the kid I was back then.
