Vehicle MG MA SFF

I SFFed with a Halftrack at a unit during the movement phase. This attack caused both a HOB fanatic and a SAN to break said fanatic ...

I later reread the rules and I am not sure I was allowed to take that shot. A9.3 clearly allows an MG from a vehicle to use sustained fire, but "as per A8.4"

A8.4 refers to final fire during the def fire phase. After rereading A8.3, A8.4 and A9.3, I came to the conclusion that vehiclular MA MG cannot use SFF. However it can use sustained fire during Def fire phase. The distinction is a bit murky, but that is how it seems to read.

Anybody disagree with this?

You can't use SFF with a vehicle MA - only Infantry unit/(its MG/IFE-weapon) can use SFF.

Per A8.3 only Infantry may use SFF (and FPF per A8.31). As you say, a vehicle MA may use sustained fire only during the DFPh.
