As mentioned in a number of other threads before .. bypassing on EITHER side of a hexside around a water obstacle is NA

"A4.3 .. Hexes containing rubble or Wire cannot be Bypassed. A hexside forming a part of a Wire Location, or covered by a Water Obstacle (24L9-M9), may not be Bypassed (B26.44) on either side of the hexside"

This is NOT explicitly mentioned in D2.3 for VBM. Can a vehicle do a VBM with a water obstacle (in my case, a pond) on either side of the hexside?

D2.3 limits VBM to woods/building obstacles.
So VBM around a water obstacle in NA.

Examples may help.

V0, V1 and X0 can all be bypassed on the hexsides facing the pond, not in the pond hex, but rather the woods hexes.

In the case of K2/K1, K2/L1, K2/L2, L1/K1, L1/L2, no bypass in either hex.

Thanks man, you are refering specifically to VBM then?

For infantry bypass, Paul Sidhu has a good illustration in his article "Advanced Nuggets" in Journal 12

A4.3 also restricts infantry bypass to woods/building hexes.
A bypassing unit always is in a given hex.
If a water obstacle hex is adjacent to a woods/building hex, and the water obstacle depiction doesn't cross the shared hexside of those hexes, it has no impact on the possibility of bypassing the woods/building along that hexside.

Here is the hex in the A4.3 reference in your original post. No infantry bypass in this case. My argument is that an amphibious vehicle could bypass, but not a 'normal' vehicle.
