I think the best part of this is that there is no time pressure. So I am happy with the way it is.

Going from three to two months would increase the workload for the volunteer who is running the league now which they might not want or can do. We all could use a little more ASL. I could handle a two month round too. Perhaps Steve can start another league.
what about a 10 week round?
That would just about slip in 5 rounds in a year...

BUt that is exactly the issue.
Too SLOW.
I can't even remember who or what I've played during the year.

Two months may be too short for me to complete the rounds. I play from France so finding a good time to play with North americans players (time difference hours) is difficult and takes a lot of time.
That is the biggest issue. When there is a five hour time difference, you are basically restricted to playing at weekends unless both players are not working during the week. People might have other commitments at weekends (including family) which would narrow the playing window even further. A game will usually take at least two sessions to complete (at least in my experience), and sometimes even more. It might take at least a couple of weeks just to agree which scenario to play and get the game set up. Personally, I think five rounds would be ideal and hopefully manageable for everyone but that is perhaps easy for me to say as a retiree.

The new feature of the match making algorithm, to take into consideration where you are living, came as a big improvement this year. I played only European opponents. Well done, Mr. Wuwei!

A one month a round tournament would see me dipping out. I want to play for enjoyment and 3ven w months can be a push for me at certain times of the year (the summer).
Yup, demand for ice cream goes through the roof in Aberdeen when the weather gets hot. Still, that is only a couple of days a year! 😉

Played a very enjoyable game of J172 Hickory Lickin' with Lionel.
While turn 1 went fine for me, thereafter it was.....difficult.
First sending 2 squads into CC versus a cx half squad turned out to be a mistake. Despite being concealed, I failed to get the ambush and eventually lost both to no effect.
The Lionels prep fire.....2, 3, 3, 2, 3. Nothing left after that!
Good scenario which requires careful movement on both sides.
Both of the combatants need to conserve forces and balance the shaky morale with the US forces and their huge firepower.

Lionel finished me off carefully exploiting my vulnerabilities and directed my remaining guys. Fun but not the result I craved!

Thank you for a very enjoyable game Martin. This CC won by my HS was the turning point in this game.

1.1 Season: There is one tournament season each year, usually starting in January and lasting until October. The tournament season is composed of 4 rounds. Each round lasts 8 weeks.

Seems like the rounds ARE 2 months long....

Interesting back and forth on the round duration. I guess you can’t please everybody. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to play and I’m fine with however Tobias wants to run this thing.

that said, it seems like there may be an opportunity here to set something up where people can play at their own pace in a semi-structured environment. I was thinking of setting up a ladder. Maybe there already is one? It can’t be too hard to run one ( I say this in ignorance, never actually having done it ). Play as often as you like, but a minimum of once or twice a year to stay active?

I’d like to hear some thoughts on this.

The round duration is set at 8 weeks but not followed for some reason. Maybe just not updated in the rule section.
When my opponent can go on a month vacation in the middle of the game...it loses it's luster...and would be better served as a PBEM game.
Everyone likes the summer,
5 games with 8 week duration is 40 weeks...leaving 3 months in the summer time.
