The result of my match with Brian DuBuis in this round of the second line league:
Scenario: HS15 Hill 27
Jonathan Kapleau was the Americans.
Brian DuBuis was the Japanese.
The Americans got the victory.

Darryl Lundy (Germans) and Paul Schaeffer (Amis) played Mook Point (AP116) in the top league.
I failed completely to get the OBA down and Darryl made me pay for that foolishness. It was still close, but
the Germans ended up with enough buildings to take the day. A fun scenario and a fine opponent.

Jon Bays and I played O15, Highland Frank. Upon adding Jon's British victory to ROAR, I discovered we were the first people ever to play it (or at least to add it to ROAR).

German paratroopers, with a couple of low-powered guns, are positioned in a hilltop village and have to keep the majority of it out of the hands of a large force of British infantry. The Brits have a fair amount of armor support, but a CVP cap means that they can't go completely nuts with it. The initial British force has to cross a couple of bridges or else spend an awful lot of MF going around/through a stream. I had an MMG and a 20L AA gun covering the bridge he chose, which managed to chew up a lot of infantry, but about half made it across, along with all the armor. I had chosen to defend the edge of the village, with the idea of falling back slowly enough to run out the clock. This turned out not to work, as my front lines got overwhelmed by Shermans and Jon's infantry had pretty good freedom of movement after turn 4 or so. My only tools to kill the Shermans were a badly placed 50L gun (I had put it up on the hill to cover the bridge he didn't use and to keep him from getting into my rear; it achieved this latter goal but nothing else), and ATMMs that never went off. Had I managed to get a Sherman or two in street fighting, things might have gone differently, although I think even then Jon would have had the upper hand.

This scenario was notable for featuring some of the craziest counter density I've ever seen: I wish I had had the presence of mind to take a screen shot. I don't think the scenario would be playable on a physical board, at least, not when the British attack along a narrow front.

I don't think either Jon or I recommend the scenario especially highly, but it was an enjoyable match nonetheless! Best of luck to Jon in the next round.

Evening
Reporting a victory for Ernie Cameron in our playing of ASL 137 "Italian Brothers." Pretty intense game with building
K4 changing hands 5 times. In the end, the Nationalist (Italians) ELR "2" came into play and doomed my
forces. Average DR for me was a 7.67 but my MC's were 8.26. Ernie had an average DR of 7 but his
MC DR's were low enough to keep the majority of his forces in play. Great game against a great opponent.
Good luck in the next round.
Cheers ya'll!

Joe Moro (Allied) and Björn Lorenzen (German) played DB 80 Task force to Cotignac. The game ended with a German win. Joe is a real gentleman and I would happily play him again anytime.

I enjoyed the extra-long summer period. It can be a bit harder to connect during the summer with vacations and all, and it gave us some flexibility with that, plus the chance to dig into somewhat meatier scenarios than we might normally do. Anybody else feel the same way?

yes, we understand that this schedule brings some advantages for several people but, once more, I must point the fact that season 2019 is somewhat special because it had a late start.
60 days for all rounds is the good compromise to arrange different needs as it is has been proved since 2007

I'm going to assign a double forfeit to Beekman and Doyle Motes since they did not play their game and, althought Doyle was unavailable to play for personal reasons for one month, I have no evidence that Ed was instead ready to play before of after this time. Plus he never replied my email nor has reported anything

so, now the next round pairings are...

now I'm still waiting the last result from the game Galli - King from the West/Central League that should be known not later than tomorrow.
West Central League round 4 will begin asap, but it last till the end of November, so no hurry or urgency

Does someone know how to reach out for Laurent LE BILLAN
I'm not able to get in touch with him and his opponent in the SLL has the same problem.

best

Craig Houliston's Russians will defend against Alex Koestler's attacking Germans in FrF93 Weiner Walzer. I look forward to a great match with Alex.
