Curious how deluxe plays out in VASL. In my one play with it using VASL, I found it cumbersome - lacking any of the advantages of play on a board with oversized hexes - and the disadvantage of actually being harder to see everything.

Maybe I was doing it wrong?!
It needs some love from the VASL elves. Overlays need updating, countersize needs adjusting etc. That said, resources are tight so I understand why DASL has suffered (though there are some great DASL scenarios)

Carl Nogueira's Germans, in RBF07, Into the Cauldron, despite two unbelievably boneheaded plays, running elite squads into if I rout I die situations and paying the proper price in each case, were able to defeat Brian's Russians. Brians overall average was not bad when we last checked it, but when he really needed a roll, it just wasn't going to happen. Good game against a great guy.

Mark Humphries Russians defeated Jim Hunter's Germans in DASL 1 Guryev's HQ. The match is recorded on ROAR and in the league. One game to go before this round is complete. Martin and Enrico, how goes the battle?
Thanks guys.

the game is more or less at halfway. We should end by the deadline.

never seen so many wires in so few hexes (Scenario J 172)

I suspect some message has been lost.
Almost sure I reported here my win vs Martin Vicca. Possible?

I receeived the email Enrico and sent an email out with the new pairings for the Final round. However, while we are in the neighborhood, here is the final round again. I will follow up with another email.

Round Four

3-0

Enrico Catanzaro vs Carl Nogueira

2-1

Brian Wiersma vs Kevin Kileen

Chris Hofland vs Mark Humphries

1-2

Jim Hunter vs Ken Dunn

0-3

Will Willow vs Pierce Mason (regrettably a rematch of round one, but with so many dropouts, inevitable).

Gentlemen,
To those who have notified be of the conclusion of your games, thanks. For those who have not, I have decided, with the Holidays approaching, to conclude this round on 1/31/17. I feel that with so many games not reported yet, this would be the best approach.
Thanks,
Carl

Guys, still looking for news on Killeen/Wiersma and Hunter/Dunn. Enrico and I completed our game of Foot In The Door. I was able to win with the Germans. So, yes, I have won my own tourney. Just so you guys know, this is no more fixed, than say, professional wrestling. What? Hmmm, ok, I'll find another example. Enrico and I had a good game and it is an interesting, if brittle scenario.

Carl thank you for the game, well played scenario and fully deserved German victory! Now I expect you leave me the win in case we'll be paired for the VASLeague final! :D

Brian Wiersma and Kevin Killeen completed a scenario of J65, Brave Little Emchas, with Brian's Russians emerging victorious. Thanks for the report guys and I have reported it to the league and ROAR.

Jim Hunter and Ken Dunn were unable to get their game on track, so they have agreed to a no contest. So the final standings for the League are:
Carl Nogueira 1st
Enrico Catanzaro 2nd
Brian Wiersma and Mark Humphries 3-1
Chris Hofland Kevin Killeen and Will Willow at 2-2
Jim Hunter at 1-2 and Ken Dunn at 0-3. (As noted above their 4th round game went unplayed.
Thanks to all those who made it to the end and all who participated at some point in the tournament. I enjoyed running it. Hopefully many of you will be available to play it in it again.
Carl
