Just out of curiosity - are the VASL files for BFP boards created by the BFP people, or by the VASL people? I know they're hosted on the BFP site, just curious as to who's responsible.

(Also, how much work does it take to convert a map to VASL? Is it something one can help with if they don't want to dedicate their life to?)

They are done by the VASL map elves. They are hosted on the BFP website but are also available in the VASL map library along with all of the other official and thrid party boards. As to the work it takes to convert a map to VASL, that varies from really simple to complex. One can convert any map to VASL through the use of a simple data file definition setting 4 values. But all this allows is the simple display of the map within VASL. What the VASL map elves do is put in the additional functionality such as turning terrain types off/on, LOS capability, converting terrain types (e.g., ETO to PTO). This is what takes a lot of work.
