Vasl 5.0 Help

Hello All,
I had a system crash and now I can't get Vasl 5.0 to work at all or even update. I went to the link provided to install it but nothing happened. I was wondering if someone could email me the files or send me a link to were I can get the latest copy?
I don't know what happened but it loads version 5.0b but I get an error saying that the Japenese are missing from the drop down as well as the American and I also get the same message saying the terrain is missing. I just hit ok and then the game starts as usual.

Are you trying to open a v4 game, with v4 extensions (such as
BRT.mdx)loaded in v5? This ain't gonna work real well. The
extensions will try to file their contents in the (extensively
massaged) ctrtray, and likely won't find the slots they need to
live in, hence the errormsgs you are seeing.

Will VASL5 run if you remove all extensions (except VASL4.mdx)
from the VASL5_ext dir? If not, see below...

To remove & re-install VASL/VASSAL beta versions:
a) search for and run javaws.exe
b) in the 'Java Web Start Application Manager' dlog,
select View > Downloaded Applications, then for
both 'VASL beta' and 'VASSAL (beta release)',
highlight the application & select both
Application > Remove Shortcuts & Remove Application.
c) Exit & Restart your box.
d) Connect, start javaws, typing
'http://www.vassalengine.org/beta' in the Location: field.
Highlight 'VASSAL (beta release)' and tag 'Start'.
Allow the app to install.
e) Exit & Restart your box again.
f) Connect, start javaws, typing
'http://www.vasl.org/beta' in the Location: field.
Highlight 'VASL beta' and tag 'Start'.
Allow the app to install.

HTH. In the (near?) future, V5 will be up to speed and into the
mainstream. Shortly(?) thereafter, I'll post a 'VASL4_ext.mdx'
file that will contain the imagefiles required by legacy
savegames. Concurrently, I'll post updated, V5-compatible mdx
files of counterman(CX, tm) stuff. Some items, such as Para-
marines, Raider, Pathfinders, and the entire IRS.mdx, are
already included in V5.

That problem is linked with extensions.
I had the same.
Some extensions that work on VASL4 don't on VASL5.
Displace your extensions from their VASL5_ext folder and introduce them one at a time.
You'll see which one induces which error message.
I still have "terrain" error messages, but I don't mind : the thing works fine (I left some of the extensions) !

Thanks for the advice, I had a bad mdx file that was causing all the havoc.
