im in turn 62 of a solo game, want to familiarize self before indulging inPBEM, and US has declared war on Axis. how soon will US troops begin to have a direct effect on the game.

about a year. US rifle squads won't start appearing in the replacement pool until the historical US entry date so the US froces you get before then are rather limited in thier utility.

agreed. The first and second batch of US forces is pretty small and as the HRAT-Squads start production turn 172+ losses taken earlier cant be replaced, evaporated units cant be reconstituted.

starting with 1.8 us rifle squads begin on the historic turn of entry. Considering how high the rate is, I'd prefer not having them start until the larger batches of US corps begin arriving and either put several k in hte pool at the start or have the initial US corps use normal rifle squads.
IIRC bazookas weren't available when the US entered the war, so having AT- squads wouldn't be historic anyway.
