Unless designing a scenario that is intended to highlight the peculiar nature of the A&P platoon in battle, I would hesitate to create some sort of 2nd Line unit on steroids.

For instance, instead of creating a special squad to represent personnel from the A&P platoon, use a 3-3-7 HS instead. A simple SSR would ensure that these HS may not recombine. However, the HS automatically has all of the attributes (e.g. Elite, underlined ML, etc.) required for the specialist task at hand, be it a Demo, or a FT team. If you really needed to simulate some extra smoke-making ability (and I am dubious about the need or rationale for this given the smoke grenades available to even Ami 5-3-6 squads), you could add a smoke-exponent capabilty to the SSR.

Finally, bear in mind that a 5-4-6 AE will not last long on the battlefield if it is toting a FT. As any wounded 6+1 leader can attest, a ML of five sucks.
