Guys - I just finished work on the updates for Campaign Bautzen, Leipzig and 1814. Not sure exactly when these will get posted as John Tiller has been very busy but just a heads up that these are coming at some time in the near future.

Included in the update is all regular Dragoon regiments (not light dragoons) are now D type. Certain Confed of the Rhine dragoon regiments will not be rated Dragoon type as they really were just Light cavalry.

At some point in the future I will include which ones are Dragoon type and which ones are NOT.

Ok, just an update on the updates (pun fully intended ...) ... we got pre-release updates from John to test out and all went well. Found some things that were missed in the original files I had for the updates so there were more files for Leipzig to add in (either more corrections to updated files or files that needed to be updated ... but you get the picture). One of our playtesters noted that there was a 3D icon missing so I checked that out and fixed it. Also I noted in a 3D icon review the the N.Italian Gd. Velites were missing their icon. This will get created and added to all three updates. (the Units.bmp pic is there - just didn't have a 3D icon)

All corrected files are off to John. Just waiting on the graphics side of the house now. Should not take too long to get the one icon added in and then the updates will be out.

Note: all four scenarios in one of the branches for the Berlin Campaign for Leipzig had to be updated. In two cases there were no Allies on the map. In all cases the victory levels were at zero (0). Simple fixes which I did today.

Looking forward to getting these out. Leipzig has over THREE HUNDRED (300) files in the update. 1814 not as many and Bautzen even less.

The Notes.PDF file was updated. See my notes on the Dragoon type upgrade at the end of that text file for how I chose to model the D type units in the game.

I just checked the Leipzig 1.04 update and the missing graphics were included this time. The update should be out either today or by the weekend. Updates for 1814 and Bautzen should follow within the next couple of weeks.

Note: for Leipzig - one member of a game club said that the Operational Leipzig scenario was unbalanced in favor of the French. That the holding Leipzig should be more important.

Well frankly, we found in testing that the French army was pretty much gone after the first day if it stuck around. The combination of the AoB and the AoS was too much. The battle would have been over by the beginning of the second day.

I have thought of fixing both sides for a short period of time but that usually doesn't work either.

In testing I found that if the AoB marches to the west and crosses the river they can probably cut off the French from getting ALL of their army off of the map. The French usually went with a Northwest and West strategy in exiting Leipzig. The Allies have to pull Blucher back as otherwise he gets overwhelmed.

Undoubtedly both sides need some sort of Special Rules so what I am going to do is draft up a set to be used in games for players that want something more than the game engine will offer. More on this later.
