If a unit has the letter "B" after their movement value number (12B), what does the B stand for?

Thanks

Oh! Oh! I know! I know! Pick me! Pick me! ;-)

It means the unit has boats so it can enter full water hexes. Best to be in a column before you go into the water, though.

...and not to forget that there isn't anything to hide behind when out on the water.... especially lakes.

Ahh.....Boats!!!

Can you move on land a few hexs before entering the water or do you need to have full movement values to enter the water?

Thanks

It seems like it cost half your movement points to enter a water hex. You can move into a water hex on your turn, but you'll need at least 1/2 your mp's or you'll have to wait until your next turn. Plus it looks like you can move at max about 2 hexes per turn.

Check the PDT information under the HELP tab in the game. There you will find the movement cost in water.
