Hello all,
The fact that this is going out on a Thursday instead of a Monday should be evidence of just how disruptive and discombobulating the last two months have been. I'm told that a good remedy for discombobulation is to play ASL, which at the very minimum ought to focus that discombobulation onto various arcane interactions between Chapters A, D, E, and DN in the ASL rulebook.
Given that Minnesota is still under a stay at home order, in person play is of course out of the question. VASL, on the other hand is good to go.
In related news, HongKongWargamer has provided us with an invitation to the ASL Central Discord server:
Join the Advanced Squad Leader | Central Discord Server!
The biggest Advanced Squad Leader community on Discord. Learn to play. Ask rule questions. Find opponents. Be informed | 2309 members

I've been hanging out there for a couple of weeks now, and it's a good bunch of folks. I highly recommend joining. It's a simple enough process and you don't even need to provide your real name or e-mail address if you don't want to.
Details:
Day: 5/9/20
Time: Whenever you please
Location: VASL, BGG, GS, Discord-- wherever we happen to congregate online
The theme this month is "CASE YELLOW." Here is a selection of scenarios, all of which take place during the German blitzkrieg of the West:

This month is a little funky where anniversaries are concerned. May 9 is a day late for the 75th anniversary of the end of operations in Europe in 1945, and a day early for the 80th anniversary of the kickoff of CASE YELLOW. If you want to match theme and anniversary (and don't mind being off by a day), check out "Bring up the Guns," "In Front of the Storm," and "Toujours L'Audace," all of which set on 5/10/1940. If you'd rather catch the tail end of hostilities, try:
Code:
J180 The Hour Zero British / Wehrmacht SS 5.4 38.46% 61.54% Journal 11 5/8/1945
ASL230 Prelude to Dying Croatian Partisan 5.3 64.71% 35.29% Armies of Oblivion (2nd Ed) 5/8/1945. Originally published as J112 in Journal 7. Win rates are for the J112 version.
