There are many PC games that deserve a second look, and then there are a bunch of mediocre ones too horrible to mention.

Here are the top 5 that deserve a full-fledged sequel.

5. Sacrifice

A quirky, hybrid game which was ahead of its time in many ways, yet very easy to learn and play. With a modern graphics engine and a serious tune up to the (now dated) control scheme, this could be a gem.

4. Baldur's Gate II

There have been many pretenders to the throne, but few RPG games managed to offer even a fraction of the epic gameplay this classic served up. They just don't make games like this any more.

3. Homeworld

If you aren't familiar with Homeworld, then you were either living under a rock or stuck sucking on your fudgesickle and playing Crash Bandicoot when this classic space strategy sim hit the market in 1999. The recent 'Remastered' release, while nice, doesn't qualify and Homeworld II is now quite long in the tooth. We need Homeworld III now!

2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

One of the most original and unusual games ever released, this one sported a huge open world with tons of areas to explore and some truly nasty surprises. Survarium may have been inspired by the original, but it's really a different animal. Perhaps someday we will see a true and worthy successor so we can go back to the zone.

1. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

One of the best strategy titles to ever appear on the PC, it's still a mystery to many why this game hasn't inspired a sequel. It's 2016 for crying out loud, and gamers have waited long enough. If there's one game out there that deserves a full re-make, it's Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
