Tigers and Flames was a blast. I've played 5 or 6 of those. Waiting for bd76 to play The Cost of Non-Compliance.

Ya Tigers and Flames is a great scenario, hopefully mmp will reprint it in a Journal. The rest are just plain boring.

I've played 15 of these. I liked the majority of them. Most of the newest Journal scenarios are very good.

I am quite surprised: I played 4 of the 21 (not even counting S1 Retaking Vierville). A Real Barn Burner, Hart Attack, Tigers and Flames, Costly Baptism. I liked all of them, but then, I like almost all my games - I don't get enough.

I have not played #2, #6, #13, #15, #16, #18, #19.
Will probably try #13 and #18, the rest of the leftovers i'll pass.

With the exception of Tiger and Flames, almost 95% of those scenarios are 1 or 2 boards, small OB's and less then 6 turns on average. So there is a sameness to them due to the boards, the turns and OB's. Thus my feeling that most of those scenarios are kind of blah and dicey.

These are much-played scenarios, it's no wonder that they are on the small side. They're the kind of scenarios that get played in tournaments, but also the kind of scenarios that people with limited playing time (or that want a game that can be completed in two evenings on VASL) will gravitate to. No big surprise if this is the kind of scenario that gets many playings.

So, the selection process, in itself, is biased in favor of small scenarios. There is no claim that it is equivalent to quality. You, OTOH, clearly favor large scenarios, so there is again little surprise that they're not your favorites.

(And the largest of them, Tigers and Flames, is much larger, but also features several cool "toys", in the form of 3 Tigers and a whole lot of quality Russian tanks, including Flame tanks. Among larger scenarios, this is certainly something that will attract players...)

I have played most of the list at the top this year and had no problem playing one side or the other. They were mostly all close affairs except when a major gaff was made by one side or the other.

Too bad you're giving #2 the once over. I really believe this is one of the best "Minor" scenarios I've ever played. VERY tough for either side and I'd bet it comes down to the very last in most playings.

Many other scenarios screaming to be played. Will consider playing that one during ASLOK though.
