Started preparing a Russian defence for RF CG 1 (RB CGII plus RO CGII).
I'll keep a narrative in a word doc as we go.
Hey, I've played BRT CGIII on VASL so why not this one? 😁

Did a face-to-face playtest of a scenario with its designer tonight.

I contrived to Malfunction every single one of my five SW/Guns!

You think this is bad?

Moreover, I contrived to Malfunction 60% of all my SW/Guns twice!

And one of these permanently X'ed out on its repair attempt.

Heck, we need a new rule in ASL that allows for picking up rocks from the ground to throw at the enemy...

So you are saying it is an unbalanced dog?

I liked the scenario. After I had to concede defeat, erm, no - after the Americans found Lieutenant Watanabe bent over his sword after he had committed seppuku, the designer and I talked it over. It had been the first playtest run, so we came up with a few tweaks here and there, that might smoothe some things out for the next playtest run.

Thanks by the way for your extremely quick reply to the "Can Dummies set up HIP" Perry-Sez request. This was a question which came up during this playtest.

I am looking forward to seeing the final thing one day.

In the first week of June, next playtest is up with the same designer. But a different scenario.
Made me - at long last - punch and clip the new set of Italian counters from Hollow Legions 2nd edition for more convenient stacking in this game.

Cheers,

Finnished punching and clipping the "Hollow Legions 2nd edition" Italians for an upcoming playtest.

Did not tackle rest of the counters yet, mainly because the Ethiopians etc. create a FUBAR cascading chaos in my storage systems.

Some day, I will sink months of my lifetime to address this, when I succumb to the nagging of creating a (once more) perfect RAACO ASL storage, replacing the RAACO A75 and A78 inserts with (yet to be optimally designed) 3D-printed inserts...

And the day after you finish that task, the next big module will be released.

Yeeees....

But this time, I would be fiendishly prepared as I would allow for an ample amount of empty slots for each nationality...
And thus, still my (new) storage system from hell could not be disrupted!

Well, and if so: Heck, I can always burn the offending counters... :devilish:

Excuse me, Herr Oberst; but aren't the Ethiopians in the 3rd Edition of "Hollow Legions"?
Hm, if the current Edition of Hollow Legions is the 3rd edition, then yes.
Seems, I have lost track on the editions.

In any case, I am talking about the "newest" one.

Thanks for pointing out.

It's kinda late for Easter, but...

... I found what you might call an "Easter egg" in my RAACO storage system.

Having recently punched the Italians (3rd Edition) and noticing 3 (only three) Allied Minor counters in that box, I wanted to put them together with the other Allied Minor stuff.

In doing so, lo and behold, I discovered that in the lower layer of the Allied Minor RAACO Assorter I had no less then 7 (yay, seven!) slots of empty inserts!

Which means that I can now easily store the Elite and 1st Line Poles from Doomed Battalions 4th edition AND the Ethiopians from Hollow Legions 3rd edtition easily without my storage system being busted!

Hooray!

This still leaves the Axis Minor Eritreans uncovered, but hey, it is one significant problem solved.

Finished off the 5/8 counters from the two copies of Ponyri I am clipping for a customer, taking all the 1/2ā€?ones up to Aberdeen to get done on my work rotation, along with a pile of the Vehicle data cards to cut out.

I wish I could speak it! I learned a little bit here & there growing up (mostly cuss words of course) & I took it for 4 quarters while I was at LaTech. I can read it all day but I don’t know what I’m reading except the occasional word or phrase that I have retained.
