Unfortunately that is from the simplistic ‘Our tanks are better’n dem Ruskies because we have better gun depression’ Cold War pap. There are precious few places where that actually works. If you do the trigonometry you will find that there is a dead zone right before each of those hull down locations. If the reverse hill slope is 7° and the gun depression is –10° that is a net –3° depression. At –3° there is 190m of dead zone per 10 meter in height rise. Sometimes at close range the tank in the dead zone has the advantage to the hulldown tank because it is able to fire up but the hulldown tank can't fire down.
