I wanted this paticular Alamo set ever since I saw the JW Alamo movie in 1961. :yummy:
Never getting one for my birthday or Christmas is probably my main reason for collecting toys.
This one is very brand spankin' new but will I have the nerve to win it? :crosseye:

I might have to cut loose with my Iwo Jima set to help cover it. This one ain't bad and is getting some action;

I have the same set but mine is untouched by human hands(ie unassembled). The Japanese in my set are very brittle(bad plastic) and as I poured them from their bags, they came in body parts & weapons(how realistic for Iwo!). I was able to get a couple of mint, matched sets of Japanese(16 per set) to make my set nearly perfect.

Check out these completed auctions(you'll have to be logged in on ebay)

2 #1 gone. Its been a great tourney so far. Looks like the Bucks should make the final 4. The N Iowa MSU game should be interesting to watch last night.

It was funny last weekend when Kansas was getting knocked out I was working at Radio Shack in a Mall. They have a large screen TV in the window.
5 minutes to go the crowd starts forming. I'm inside watching it. With about a minute to go theres maybe 70-80 guys out there watching it and the police come buy and make them move in to create a way to get through.
All I was thinking was I sure wish I had a DVD of Heidi To put on the screen.

At a Time out with less than a minute to go I change the channel. Man if looks and shouts could kill .HEHE
I changed it back of course.

The Baylor University Basketball program was disbanded 10 years ago.

8 years ago, the basketball program started from scratch.

They are now in the "Elite 8" for the first time in their history.

Usually Wolkey is on with 'Gonzaga this, Gonzaga that'. Not this year.
That's because the NCAA screwed them over with an #8 seed just like every year. They have to play #1 Syracuse in NY and got blown out. They're ranked #14 in the country and are an #8 seed? Reminds me when they were ranked #3 in the country and were given a #6 seed.

Wasn't expecting much this year as they lost 4 players and had 10 new players this year. Was very happy to see them win their conference for the 10th year in a row. Only UCLA and Kentucky have done better. Next year is going to be their year as all their freshmen will have seasoning and experience. All GU needs is a point guard.

Surfing on the net searching "Tarawa Wallpaper" phrase, found this

Kinda reminded me of this thread. :D

Now I know why USMC vets called landing on this "beach" the horror.
