It was mentioned that if Poland and England got to play in the World Cup the whole country would grind to a halt!!!!

I never bothered with it and was a little disapointed that USA did not get a win.

Still only a few more weeks of shite to put up with.

I hate 90 min Patriots!!!!!! Unlike the USA British troops leave for the conflict zones without much of a whisper. No public display of suport or well wishes but but a bunch of twits on a field, give them a ball and too much money and you have thousands suddenly paying attenion. It makes me feel a little sick really.

Ian
Gottta agree here, The UK gives absolutely no support to the troops unlike in the US, and as for F####ball !!!! bunch of well overpaid premaddonas, who when they fail to perform still get paid and the manager gets the sack!!!!, me I would cut there wages till they started to perform again, either that or have them enlisted to play football for the troops in Afghanistan by the roadside as the troops go by!!!!!!

Gents, with all my respect I have for soldiers (as I always wanted - and want - to be one of them, sadly low chances), what you talk about is typical situation. Football has more money profits than expeditionary forces. US does not support it as much, because they do not have so much interest in it, as they have more money-making baseball, I believe so.

And it's typical in soccer that they are veeeery well paid, but isn't it true for sport in general these days?

Yes that is true, but then again the expectation to fullfilment of British football is lamatable. It's not that it gets them all hot and sticky, it's the fact they dress it up as being patriotic and when you don't fly the flag your not. I nearly got the sh1t kicked out of me when some prat kissed the three lions and I explained to them that the emblem was in fact really french!!!! These guys mix up football, packy bashing and kicking queers with being somehow being good English men. I'm not against supporting England just linking it to being a decent guy when I know all the local shops are due a kicking when England goes out or wins it all. How can I be excited about that?

And I just love the very tasty camera angles. The producers really know their target demographic - dirty perves with a poontang fetish :yummy:

Why don't some of these schools sue the former coaches for breach of contract? Seems to me they would have a case.
Depends on the contract. Most have an escape clause for another job or for a $ penalty (like the UMich coach's while at WV where he was stunned that WV wanted their $ they were contractually owed when he bailed). I think most of the contracts allow the school to void the contract going forward if the school goes on probation, I've never heard of a penalty invoked where the coach is fined for a probation. Most coaches wouldn't want the liability (and the coaches are the ones in demand and have the power here) and one could argue that often the coach isn't at fault - in the USC case it was wannabe agents trying to buy off Reggie where it's quite plausible Carroll knew nothing about it. Would it be fair for Carroll to pay back a few million in that case? (Presuming he knew nothing of course)

What's really awful is when the coach buries a program & then walks scott-free to another program to do it all over again. At least Pete left the NCAA...

Sounds lousy indeed... There will be always a group of morons who will claim ideology even to eating strawberries, nothing can be done with it. If things would be better in this area, no one would support democracy, which needs vast amounts of stupid men to roll further.

Verdammt, it's too political, let's change pace. In the meantime, I'll go to bathroom.

Some more on the same theme...
