0-52 baby!
Greetings,
In the past I had made mention about this idea, and the post was sort of buried in the midst of another thread, so I'd like to get your thoughts on a "The General" magazine collection on CD-Rom.
First off, I'm well aware of the pressure and delays that MMP is facing with current projects and time tables for new releases, and that they may not be in a position to work on such an item at the present moment.
I'm also aware that Hasbro owns the rights to The General magazine, so any such collection would probably have to be a 3rd party product produced with the blessings of Hasbro and its partners.
Dragon Magazine produced the first 250 copies on CD-Rom, and it remains one of the best collections of its type, given its searchable index, and ease of which the various modules and add-ons could be printed for home/personal use. The original price was $69.99 and was worth every penny.
So, would you be interested in such an item - and secondly, without contacting Hasbro - has this subject been broached before within the ASl community ?
I'm thinking that if a few of us were to get together, and make a proposal to Hasbro, explaining in detail what we planned to do,
and that any such project could include advertisements and a web link to Hasbro/Avalon Hill that such a project would in some way be a way to help draw more people into the board gaming world AND more importantly give the community access to a wonderful resource.
PDF formatting might work, or even a massive Help Guide interface is even plausible for that matter.
In any case, please let me know how you feel about this subject, and if its been spoken of before, my apologies for wasting your time.
Cheers,
