Thanks!

Update:

Okay. There are only a few outstanding games left.

Hey Steve,

When you win a game, do you act like Achilles and start shouting "Is there anybody else?!?" :D

"Is there anybody else?"

I dont get the joke, but, i just won a game ... :-O
It's a reference to the movie Troy. After Achilles easily slays the best soldier from an opposing army, he arrogantly shouts "Is there no one else?!?"

Reminds me of Lurker. :) That man was born to end [chess] lives. :D

Here is a rare photo of Steve wearing his gear at a chess tourney:

LOL!

Congrats on the chess victory! Be sure to send me the PGN so I can record it!

Good game, KC. It was that quiet pawn move (46...f3) that did the trick for me.

Status update:

Looks like we have five more games and then we can declare a winner (as if we don't already know :D).

Steve, winning all eight of his games, is the undisputed winner. I think I have second place, winning 6 of 8. It's third place that is still in contention between KC, Mathew and Wayne.

The bronze medal is still up for grabs!

KC's in the lead for third, but Wayne has a game in hand. By the way, is Wayne still with us? I haven't heard from him in a while.

I think four of them dropped out, didn't they? Shouldn't we have 10 games and not 9?

Yeah, that list includes everyone who signed up for the first round; many of them are no longer playing.

We only played one game a piece in round 1 because this was going to be at least a three round tourney. However, with all the drop-outs, we just did a final eight game round robin. Altogether, we will have played 9 games apiece.
