Here's mine.

Kror, son of Krain. A dwarven warrior in AD&D, he was always ready for a fight and always suspicious of magic and those who use it. He carried a double-bladed axe that was taller than he was, and wasn't particularly fond of bathing.

Killed by a vampire while exploring in Castle Ravenloft.

Many years ago, I made this elf PC up. Think it was D&D based.

Anyway, the DM was one of those guys that couldn't let you just make a PC, he needed you to make him up, then next game session you get this involved document spelling out his whole past history. Bit intrusive in a way, I personally don't want someone else spelling out what my PC is all about.

So, his name was Temuka Alexis Lietchfield (I picked city names out of an atlas). He justified it by saying someone had pulled a prank on mom, and she was stoned out of her mind during the naming ritual :)

Well the original elf PC was ok, it became not so much the original PC, but rather how the name kept resurfacing for years in game after game, system after system.

The funniest had to be the hermaphodite spaceship pilot. A combination of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Murdock from the A team. "It" could fly anything, was drop dead gorgeous, and female looking. Was a trader that would do almost anything if there was a profit.

Currently Temuka is a World of Warcraft Druid :)

Mine was Mad Mark, a Solo/Street Samurai I played for about ten years in Cyberpunk. He was killed during the 4th Corporate War when a tac-nuke was detonated at the Arasaka Tower in Night City, June 2022.

Mordrig Moonbiter

LOL, I still use the name.

Human Nightblade for the Rolemaster system.

He was 40, short and weak. The game was Lands of Nevron and it was a PBM, yep, play-by-mail. Turns came 4-6 times per year. A fantastic game, the GM keeps talking about re-starting it, but there are so many demands on his life now he has trouble. :upset:

Mordrig tried to assassinate another player who had taken a potion to become a dragon. Almost worked too, but all he managed to do was upset the dragon. :surprise:

Mordrig fled into the ruins of a castle and the dragon smashed the entrance trapping him inside. He spent the next 3 years real time exploring the ruins (about 2 days game time). Then the game stalled and he is still there trying to aviod 6 orcs.

Sharim Hizbella (named for a couple of mid-East diplomats in the news at the time I was creating him).

Desert-type, oddly-enough. :) Rolemaster Warrior Mage (think magically-powered fighter). He LIKED fire- REALLY obsessed with fire, to the extent that he had a natural ability, that fire-based spells cost 1/2 PP.

I can't remember the lists off the top of my head, but in general, they were:
1) movements- gave unusual abilities in movements, like Leap, Land, Float (I seem to remember at least one time being pulled along like a balloon...), and at higher levels, limited teleport abilities (like, not through solid materials, but 'pass' to the other side of a grating or gate).
2) elemental attacks- a custom list from the GM, a variety of (mostly) bolt attacks, like Shock-, Cold-, Fire-, and Lightning, and some Ball attacks. You can imagine, once he was high-enough level, what his favorite was... :smoke: He later started learning a specialist Fire Law list, which had the same Fire spells at a slightly lower level (but, only Fire, not other elements), making him even worse...
3) a fighting list- combination of defensive and offensive spells- Blur (+10DB), Shield (+25DB), Combat (+1/lvl each OB & DB), etc.
4) Warrior's Weapon- his spear (only one could be Attuned at a time) gave bonuses to casting in combat, to attack, etc. Like the Combat spell, bonus got bigger each level.

In particular, he wasn't all that instantaneously dangerous as our Rogue (Bongo, who with [IIRC] a Helm of Weapon Mastery, we joked could probably both lift and use a 747 as a Krush weapon...) or Mio (the Beastmaster who was even more deadly with a bow). Nor was he as powerful a magic user as a pure mage. In RM, the Semi-Spell users have expensive weapon AND spell development costs. However, given time to prepare (a minute or so), he could do some serious overcasting of fire-based spells, or get a variety of the fighting spells fired up. THEN he got nasty.

At one point (around Lvl 15 or so), we were running through a D&D module, converted to RM (I think it was The Keep on the Borderlands). The leader of the Keep didn't trust us, and didn't listen to us trying to tell him that the scouts he had sent out, who were returning under a flag of truce, weren't "quite themselves" (i.e., they were now Undead). He decided to meet them in the entrance area. We ended up trying to fight them through the murder holes, trying to protect the leader, but it wasn't going well...

Sharim had the time (while the gate was opening) to "Power Up"...
He realized that the leader was in a bad way, so he Passed into the entryway and started fighting in direct support of the leader, instead of through the murder holes... a LOT more effective that way.

Saved the leader, won his trust, and set us up to actually help the keep survive the siege! Huzzah!

Too bad that, after the beseiging army left, and we went out to try to deal with the next stage of the adventure, that the army came back and wiped them out.

Today's hero would be a guy I called Bear. He's an Elf that is clearly not a normal Elf. He's grubby smelly wears hides, prefers to be alone in the wilderness. His own people find him a bit distasteful (might be the unwashed stink).

I made him up for a hack n slash campaign. I had two 18s, and wasted one on Charisma. Hey I got a modified 20 on Dex and felt awkward having a second 18 for either Strength or Intelligence considering his other stats looked stellar too.

So I made him just so likable hehe.

He has a 9 Intelligence (only bad number). I am having fun playing the likable dolt hehe.

Made him into a super archer. Hey, talk is an archer sucks in battle, yeah right, try living near my PC if he considers you a threat.
Thanks to feats I have chosen I can shoot into melee no penalty. I can move through hard cover as if it's not there. I can at current level let loose 3 arrows a round, and when I miss it's considered "weird". I have some magic items to aid me of course, but doesn't everyone :)

He's funny most games. Usually makes a wrong Int based call, as a tracker he's often wrong inspite of everything hehe. But in combat, the guys usually figure the sheet has hit the fan if Les's Archer is out of action. I was actually resurrected once just because I'm too useful even if I drive the group nuts :)

When I miss a game session the standard drill is "make two really dumb calls tonight, and then find a way to save the group at least once".
What's neat, is my PC is the only survivor of the first night's character mix.

I had a D&D ranger of whom I was quite proud. He was part of a group of PCs that my pals and I had had since our early gaming days, and after many years, we were all really powerful. I think we were all getting kinda bored, so in the end our GM threw us up against some kind og ungodly (or maybe it was godly) monster. I was 23rd level, and the rest must have been about the same, but this critter literally stomped us. Luckily, we had taken the precaution of having implanted in the baase of our skulls torque grenades that we had scrounged from an adventure (I forget the name) where a spaceship crashes in the mountains, and it's full of technology from TSR's Gamma World game. Well, one stomp, the bomy boes off, kills the next guy, and so begins a 2 second daisy chain in whioch the entire party is killed. A very cool death.

But my real fave is a Rolemaster character: a fighter named Claude Bertrand de Poulignard. Great with the rapier, far too proud, always looking for an excuse for a duel, but very chivalrous, in his own incompetent and naìve way. In Middle earth back in the Second Age (ask Mordrig how the heck we ended up there) we ran into the honest-to-goodness Smaug. Claude, always the gentleman, offered Smaug the chance to surrender, and he would not be hurt, to whick the dragon quite understandable replied "F*&# off!" Claude, insulted, shouted the immortal words "I will not be spoken to in that manner by a mere reptile. Defend yourself, monsieur!" (it sounds better with a cheezy French accent), and proceeded to go toe to toe with Smaug, even though Claude's rapier was not magic enough to do a critical that could actually harm Smaug. My real job was to keep him busy, and keep myself alive, long enough for Gnortz the Barbarian to finish him off with his +20 Irgaak.

I am pretty sure I got both my legs melted off at the knees. Kinda messed up my career after that. :)

Gamma World! Now you're talking old timer! :)

At one time I ran a group in that for a few sessions, but we determined we liked fantasy RP'ing better.
