This will happen, perhaps even in 2018.

It will probably be further up north, near the Bavarian-Thuringian border.

ASLF? ASLiF? We haven't even agreed on the name yet.

Our aim:
A tournament for casual gamers. No month long preps. No spending hours on optimizing the last bit of the setup. Just a weekend of informal gaming in a relaxed atmosphere, meeting people and perhaps learning a few new tricks.

For all the alleged shortcomings mentioned in your teaser, existing events have secured a base of recurrent players because tournament players, alles in allem, are a faithful lot.
I wish your public will be as faithful as theirs.

I wouldn't call it "shortcomings". It's a different approach. "Leistungssport" vs. "Breitensport", if you want. ;)

I do not think the Grenadier Tournament has any shortcomings, except that I consistently cannot make it to there AND that is only once per year!

More ASL, more ASL!

Count me in when the date fits...
It needs not to be a tournament format to play solid ASL.
I guess you will attract some German players since it´s a while that there was a second German ASL gathering, the "Westwall".
Really looking forward for the combination of ASL + Bavarian beer and food
If i can give support...just let me know.

Fine to hear of plans of a second ASL-Event in Germany. The Bavarian-Thuringian border would be a awful drive for me, but we'll see.

What kind of accomodation is planned for the event? Would it be inexpensive like for Grenadier or more like a regular hotel?

For our first try, we aim for small and cheap.

If this will happen in 2018, it's going to happen from
June 8th to June 10th 2018
in
96231 Nedensdorf
right next to Bad Staffelstein, easily reachable via Autobahn 73 or the then complete ICE high-speed track Berlin-Munich.

Details will follow.
