Hello,

I own ASL/Beyond Valor and ASLSK3
I am looking for someone to help me learn VASL and play a few games.
I have not played ASL or ASLSK before, but i have read through the ASLSK rules.

My schedule is pretty tight, so long term play will most likely be pbem but i should be able to play occasional live games as well.

I have a good amount of experience with gaming in general, just looking to get a jump start into the world of ASL and back into more complex games in general!

I am located in NJ

Thanks,

Coleman

Check out 'Patrick Ireland' here in the forum and/or on the VASL server. He specializes in teaching new players and is giving them introductions to SK and basic ASL.

He can be found on the VASL server almost every day.

Cheers,

Pat has been teaching me every Sunday for the past 9 months and he's fantastic! We recently completed the ASLSK scenario sessions and he's now teaching me full ASL. I really enjoy the weekly 1-hour sessions with him. I have learned a ton and he's an incredibly nice guy. Highly recommend seeking his tutoring.

WELCOME!

Lots of other good resources
YouTube J&D Hobbies have a number of short VIDEOS (8 minutes or so) covering various ASL topics / rules. Very well done and correct.
"The 2 half squads" podcasts. There are over 170 episodes... fun to listen to ... and the early episodes are loaded with talk of ASL rules.
Russel Gifford (Google him) has a website with some excellent ASL tutorials too.
Facebook has a couple of ASL (and Starter Kit) private groups.
BoardGameGeek.com ASL Starter Kit... Jay Richardson has THE BEST written tutorials on the ASL Starter Kits (IMHO)

I think we are all relatively close. We should try to set something up.

If you want to play ASLSK on VASL drop me an email at TheSQLGuru on Google's mail service, or PM here.

I've been learning ASLSK with Pat for a few months now as well, after it was suggested I seek him out here on GS. Absolutely terrific experience! Just starting AFVs this week. Hoping he has the time and patience to continue with full ASL after. I'm also up for any noob that wants to play as well via VASL.
