Yes I noted yesterday that Gamer's Armory stated they would not be carrying SV due to "the limited number". So I had to purchase from MMP for the first time in 6 years (I can't believe I still knew the password).

So what's the story with the low production run?

yeah, I don't get it. surely everyone knew that this item would be in high demand?

Some part of the compenents was produced in the same production run of another product(s).
My guess it is the counters.
I believe this is not going to be 'limited edition' and MMP will
produce more copies at a later time.

Apart from one scenario that uses way too much overlays (13 on a half-board ), the others are more reasonable in their recourse to overlays.

A PITA for cardboard play but no fuss in VASL. In fact, I'd prepare a VASL map and print it out for FtF-play.

VASL does seem particularly useful in such situations.

I've played all but one of the original SV scenarios, and I never once had an problem with the original blue-on-white counters, not did any of my opponent.

They create no more problems than the black SS - as the Fanatic system marker is black too.

How did you get away with not paying VAT on it Alan? I gave up buying from MMP when UK customs hit me with an £8 "handling charge" as well as the VAT..................

I usually don't. Up til now I have been hit for a customs bill on everything I have bought from overseas. THink this got through okay because it was just one thin envelope that MMP had marked up as a magazine

Even so - it's just a hypothetical issue - it's not a real issue when playing with them.

Perhaps a written SSR should have been added to each scenario, that would read:

"A.12 WHITE COUNTERS: All counters printed on a white background can be used by any nationality and are often informational or memorera devices only [EXC: Swedish counters].

But no reason then or now.
