Can a MG fire in prep, get no rate, and fire again in prep as sustained fire? Not very clear in the rulebook. I always thought sustained fire was MP/MF based. Please help.

9.3 SUSTAINED FIRE: A MG that attacks using Subsequent-First-Fire/FPF ..., or during the DFPh while marked with a First Fire counter ... is using Sustained Fire ....

No mention of sustained in any Phase other than MPh and DFPh....

So, no, can't use in PFPh...

COWTRA....:smoke:

Sustained Fire

A unit can be marked with a Prep Fire counter because it exhausted it's ROF in PFPh. Last full sentence of E7.5.

AA fire takes place in the owner's MPh/DFPh(when the bad guys' planes are active), but still is marked with a Prep Fire counter.

The reference is to AA fire only and since AA fire can't Sustain...whot's up wid dat?

da priest,

Agreed! I don't know what I was thinking. I know the AA rules well and just focused on the Prep Fire marker.
