Sometimes I misremember my lessons from JR. I thought that in firing MG SW that they should always be fired first in defensive first fire. My perhaps faulty memory is that this course is taken because otherwise sustained fire is necessary after the inherent fire of an infantry unit has been shot. Duh. Tim

If you fire your inherent FP and cower, you are not going to get to fire your SW unless it is an MG and you sustain fire it.
If you fire a SW that needs a To Hit roll, you will never cower when firing that. That's why you fire your Baz or Moratar before firing your inherent.

And typically you can't even Sustain Fire the MG (unless FPF) as a cowering unit is marked with a Final Fire counter.
