Of course I have my favorite (AATF is up this year because it was released at the end of 2006).

One voter will receive a free copy of AATF based on random selection by Eddy Sterckx. Voting for AATF is not required for entry in this drawing, but it is recommended :)

Is the right way to do this joining that news group then submitting a post to the thread on the wargame of the year? That is, could new members vote?

This is a USENET newsgroup. Google groups allows you to use your google ID (you register with an e-mail address and password) to post to this group. But there are a number of websites and programs that allow you to post to USENET. This is just one.

Basically anyone can post to this thread in USENET.
