I think the whole Jackson breast thing was just a symptom of "American" culture as it is perceived today. Both before and after the halftime show, we were treated to horse farting commercials, endless "pills" to turn men into permanent dildos, and cars drenched in every smirking sexual reference possible.

Entertainment is no longer about a song, it is about getting noticed. To succeed now, forget the voice, or the words, or the music, just give us a body. The "stars" of today have managed to make us believe that they are "breaking down walls" that inhibit society from progressing by "shocking" us when all they are really doing is selling sex because they have no talent and are too lazy to be creative.

The truly sad part is that the Super Bowl is watched by millions upon millions of non-Americans and then we wonder why the Europeans call us stupid backward hicks. For many citizens of the world, the USA looks like a socially stunted, sex-obsessed 14 year old with nuclear weapons.

Isn't all this hype really a whole lot of nothing? Technically, no actual nudity was shown. The nipple was (curiously :devious: ) covered up.

While Jackson and Timberlake are hardly role models for class and maturity, I don't think it reflects well on the younger generation, when people react with complete outrage at a little extra skin being shown. The human body shouldn't be seen as something evil and bad, IMHO. Nudity shouldn't be flaunted gratuitously, but in the end we've all been nursed from a mother's breast. There's no shame in that. That being said, when an entertainment act such as the likes of Jackson or Timberlake, dripping in sexuality as it is, is being aired during a family rated program, some message of viewer discretion should probably go along with it.
