The DethRace on Sunday was a blast. I had almost as much fun just watching it as the members that participated!

We split up into teams of 3, and had one of the members in each team create a level one character. We all met up at the Wickerman just outside of UC, and the goal was to escort the level one all the way to the flight master in the badlands. We ganked a handful of Alliance 70s on the way, which was truly funny. One of them tried to run right through all of us at the meeting place - needless to say, he didn't last too long!

The race was much closer than anticipated - it was nose-to-nose all the way! We had one segment where a few alliance 70s wiped out most of the event participants, but we did manage to kill them all. A 25 horde Pally who was not from our guild started to rez us all, and the race was back on!

At the Badlands end, I was waiting at the flight master, and the entire group or participants all came into view at once! It was soooo close that I'm glad we had three of us watching for the winner!

The first place team was Seanmike's, and each member of that team received 50g, an imbued netherweave bag, spyglass, mechanical squirrel, a set of goblin rocket boots, and a fiery weapon enchant.

2nd place each received 15g, 2 netherweave bags, squirrel, spyglass and a set of rocket boots.

3rd place received 10g each, 1 netherweave bag, squirrel, spyglass, and a set of rocket boots.

We gave away around 600g worth of cash and prizes, and the event was a great success. Watch for screenshots we'll post shortly! Everyone had enough fun that I think it's safe to say that we'll be doing this event again soon.

Speaking of guild events, be sure to check the threads that are 'stickied' at the top of the forum list - we've got a Lotto starting now, with the prize being a minimum 100g!

And everyone should take a moment to thank our sponsor, Toneboogie, who donated a whopping 500 gold to finance most of the event!

Three cheers for Tone!

i throughly enjoyed it. It was a blast. hopefully next time we can get more teams and do a longer race to make it more interesting. maybe have teams of 4 with a lvl 1 in there. then race from one end to the other with the same rules, just an idea. Thanks Tone

I thought it was great! My ONLY suggestion would be what we need for the next one is for everyone to list somewhere on the forum that they are participating, so Surii or someone can organize the teams that morning and it would save time and we could also make sure everyone had the characters needed. This way when we meet they can get in their groups and the raid can be set up etc.

one other twist i just thought about. have teams of 3 or 4 with a lvl1 in the team. same idea as what we did but no using the roads for safety, you have to travel cross country.
