Except for the rogue boards I quite liked all the SL boards. Opening COI and seeing board 5 was such a treat! Those who cut their teeth on SL perhaps have a different perspective, having played so much with so few options as opposed to the plentiful options now available.

An airfield board was not well thought out, airfield overlay = much more versatile.
A very short runway indeed (less than 1000' if I'm not mistaken). Which is why board 14 got the strongest reaction from me when I first saw it. Closely followed by board 38 whose airfield looks more like a SAM site.

More than enough to get a Fieseler Storch airborne several times over...
But indeed, not an airfield really.

I have always liked Board 3. Sowchos... scenario still is fun to play more than forty (!) years later. I do intend to get some new designs out with this map. Some day...

I didn’t like board 5. I was expecting four new boards in Cross of Iron like there was in SL. Because those beautiful geo boards were a major selling point. When I opened the thin box and there was only board 5 I was extremely put out. WTF!
