I hope so. The book was an incredible read, considering it was supposed to be a childrens book.
Tolkein was a near genius when it comes to writing.

To me the greatest thing he did was to create such a complex history of the world he created without having any conflicts in its historical timeline. Literally down to the phases of the moon on any given day.
This doesn't even begin to speak of the languages he created to fill the various cultures with speech.
If you've ever read the "Sillmarillion" that contains the back history of LOTR this is very apparent. Its basically the "Bible" that contains the history of Middle Earth.
