Spotters and acquisition

I have a mortar with acquisition on a target. The mortar-unit has no LOS to his target, but his spotter has.
If the spotter dies, does the mortar loose acquisition on his target?

As long as the mortar does not otherwise qualify for acquisition loss, the mortar just needs another spotter. Acquisition stays intact. C9.3.
