Thanks for the plug Spencer!

but yes Spencer is right, none credited to you. So maybe get them released later? What was the details?
Steve Swann wrote and told me it was to have been published in the Brandenburg Pack. I guess it won't see release as an HoB product.

I am just guessing here, but I got the impression from some of the earlier advertising that there were supposed to be -two- Special Forces packs on Axis forces. If that's right, perhaps in paring it down to one, several scenarios were left out. Perhaps checking back in with Steve S. / Steve D. would shed some light on your scenario's status. Either way, here's hoping it gets published!

Ah, Paper Lace. Best known for their one bit hit "The Night Chicago Died." Lovely song that begins with one of the all-time dumb lines "Daddy was a cop on the east side of Chicago..."

I'm from Chicago. Let me assure you, there is no east side, just a rather large puddle. I laugh every time.

ASL content: Nah, past twenty posts, I don't feel obligated. :p

I lived on the southeast side. There is a section called "The Eastside". That is where "Fast" Edddie Vrdolyak ruled from in the 10 th ward. They ran out of names so the called the streets after the alphabet. Avenue A, Avenue B, etc. The east west numbering goes up to 4000 east.

Dave - a closer look at the HoB page seems to explain the matter - the current pack only includes Küstenjäger scenarios, not the Brandenburg ones. As said, here's hoping yours and others for that pack see the light of day under another banner.

Well, dang. Rep to you for being more Chicagoan (Bot says no, help me out?)

Bought and paid for via Paypal.

Steve Deth, I hope you still play ASL. HOB will be missed, but given the busy-ness of your reality/children/wife/life hey, it's been a blessing to play the quality stuff that you have produced.

What's your impression Honza? Anything profoundly cool about it?

I admit to my chagrin that I've gotten ZERO play out of the first SFI. I bought this more b/c I'm a completist (wannabe) and I like, no LOVE reading scenario cards....

You could always read my review on my blog:bite:

Nice looking pack, shame it's only 6 scenario's though. The overlay looks very nice but only gets used in one scenario. Half the scenario's are night actions and the MGB's are only used in three scenario's so it's disapointing from that POV.
Overall a positive product.

I guess now you can just ignore my blog!

Hi,

I'm pretty impressed with the product. The scenarios are unique in subject matter and situations they depict. But I suspect they are for the minority of players only. Its a very specialist subject both in terms of rules used and historical interest. But it is well worth buying for the completist and novelty factor.

I like it.

I read your blog....shame on me for making you write it twice.

Not overwheliming, but hey, not in league with some of the awful stuff that CH has made (and they seem to have made some of the worst and some of the best third party products, IMHO....)

I think the weakest point of the whole pack is that it just wont get much play out there. But I think if you have an intrest then it's worth purchasing. I could also see this gaining value as time goes on. As Jan said it has some intresting situations.

Overall I do like this product and I recommend it to anyone who likes obscure small actions. The situations are interesting and varied. Scenario cards are nice and the Chapter H notes are well written. However, I do not like the quality of the counters or the overlay. Perhaps its just me, but the counters are hard to get apart, difficult to clip and they are as mishapen as the worst of the old AH ASL counters. Also not a fan of the glossy finish (just like Kreta and Special Forces One). The overlay is not nearly of the quality that I have come to expect from HOB. While it is a nice overlay topic wise the execution looks like it came from a dot matrix printer. When I think about high quality HOB components they didn't get any better than the High Ground maps and the counters for Berlin Red Vengence and Cassino. Those were as good as AH/MMP.

I believe the counters were printed at the same time as SFI and Kreta which explains their look. As to the overlay, I have no knowledge as to its means of production, but do see what you mean.
