I know that 4-4-7 counters can be used as airborne for the Soviet's, but should the counter have an E for elites?

IIRC, there was a recent post (can't find it at the moment) that Russian/Soviet airborne troops weren't elite volunteers, but rather "leg" infantry that were told: "You - jump."

Well, to have them be paratroopers would require an SSR to that effect. Any designer worth his salt will call out Elite/1st Line as needed in that SSR.

Does not really call for another physical counter. Hasn't Plano/RAACO already made enough money off of ASL?

Apparently not, with 6 of the 20 Topics currently on Pg1 of GS being about counter storage. (Not counting the pinned topics.)

View From The Trenches has the old General magazines available to download.
One of them has an article detailing Russian Paras titled "DESANTNIKI" .
Found It...
Vol 26.2 (1990), Desantiniki - Reference Notes For ASL, Steven C. Swann, pp.34-37

Steve’s article suggests using 4-5-8’s (2-4-8 HS) which are ‘E’.
Problem solved.

Also in 26-2: G10 Grab at Gribovo, a Russian airdrop scenario.

To all ASL'ers who started after the General Magazine quit publishing...
View From The Trenches has the old General magazines available to download.
There is also an issue (at end of list) that shows what ASL articles are available and in which issue of the General you can fine them.
There are Many articles that you would like including play tactics.
